Swaddler – Prevent SIDS with a Baby Swaddler
How to prevent SIDS with a baby swaddler ?
If you are a new mother, you must have been at the receiving end of a lot of advice from well- meaning people around as to the right ways to take care of your baby.
Swaddling a baby correctly is perhaps one of the most- repeated advices you have got. Yes, swaddling is an important part of taking care of babies who are under the age of 12 months. It not only protects it from the cold, it also prevents SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
So what are the other ways of preventing SIDS? Here are a few of them:
* As a new mother, you must want to have your baby sleep beside you on your bed. But this is a complete no-no if your baby is very young. Just think about all those pillows, blankets and what could happen if your Baby gets accidentally pressed into all of them.
* When you buy baby swaddlers for your new born, you may happen to find some that cover the head. If you buy this kind, don’t cover your baby’s head with it when it is sleeping. Your baby may suffocate in it.
* If you are a smoker, make sure that you don’t smoke around the baby. Second- Hand smoking will have a very bad effect on your baby’s lungs, which could even cause SIDS.
* Your baby’s bedding should be firm and flat and not soft and foamy. You don’t want a soft bedding to swallow your baby and cause SIDS.
